Boruto one reminds me of a scorpion. Which is fitting because of Sasori and his puppet. new gen kids lacks face paint design. it's a shame. I honestly don´t mind the change. I think that he used a bit too much before. I like it but not the mouth paint in Boruto. I don't the eyes. It looks like he doesn't have eyelids.

Could be due to theatrical reasons but I think he did it initially because out of the 3 children of 4th Kazekage, he was the one who really resembled their father and Gaara hated him because of the "assassination attempts". In flashbacks before these attempts you cannot see makeup on Kankuro's face. So he might not have wanted to unnecesaarily.

I'm one of the few people who actually likes the way Kankuro dresses - he's supposed to represent Japanese theatre or something (he's named after a real life kabuki actor), hence the kabuki paint and bunraku puppeteer's outfit.
